Today, some people are celebrating the Easter, I wish them a blessed Easter! May god give you joy, hope from his abundance!
I will celebrate the Easter next week, because we follow the Orthodox Church, which they follow the Julian calendar. I am not an Orthodox but I am from Romania so I celebrate the same day the orthodox does. Is not important when we celebrate but its important to know what we celebrate, the meaning of the feast!
Now, what is Palm Sunday?
Well, Palm Sunday commemorates the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem
(Matthew 21:1-9). Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter that begins the Holy Week. As Jesus rode a donkey into the town of Jerusalem a large crowd laid palm branches and their cloaks on the road, and the crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices ”Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord”
”Peace in heaven and glory in the highest”. I wish I was there to praise Jesus!
The HOLY WEEK
Sunday – Commemorates the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem
Thursday – Jesus was arrested
Friday – His crucifixion
Jesus is the son of Good, he was born in Bethlehem, his earthly parents are Mary and Joseph.
God sent His only Child to die for us so that whoever believes in him to have eternal life, so that we can be with Him in the heaven.
Let’s just remember the meaning of Christ Resurrection!
